15th December 2014 - 2015 Season
Classic tracks are very skiable throughout Goldbar / Capilano as the evening frost is keeping them from getting too icy. we will let these tracks stand another day or so as they are very solid, and plan for a renovation of the tracks between Wednesday night and Friday night, weather dependent.
Goldbar: Dec 15
50th st - very good condition with solid tracks, fresh groomed skate lanes. (Lights are out from herringbone hill through the chute to the parking lot.) Woodcutters - Groomed and tracked and in good condition - some light debris. Lower Goldbar / lake loop - Skate lanes groomed and in good condition. Solid classic track. Minor ice / grassy spots.
Goldstick: Dec 15
Groomed skate lanes to the top of ESSO hill and through the lower trail - good condition for skate and classic. The Switchbacks and south loop were not groomed as there is not enough base. recccomended that you use the trail cutoff at anthill corner / new park bench.
Capilano: Dec 15
Good condition with fast hard track. will be groomed tomorrow.
Rundle: Dec 15
Fair to good for Skate, fair to poor for classic - some bare spots and a few icy sections in the trees. poor tracks by the trail house.
Biathlon Facility: Strathcona Science Park: Dec 18
Range, stadium and Black loop all groomed and open for skate skiing. Other loops are marginal due to recent melt back.
