Please note that there are series of lights on the South loop that are not working. EPCOR is aware of this. Please call the Trouble Line (780-412-4500) to report concerns.
Lower Goldbar is in good condition with minimal bare spots. the stadium area and teaching grids areas still need grooming. Good skating throughout. Will attempt to track set Monday. 50th st is also in good condition. Woodcutters is in fair condition with some bare spots. Hills have maintained good snowcover, soft packed for skate skiing.
Esso hill is in great shape, but the upper section and switchbacks are in poor - fair condition with grassy spots. The final creek crossing through to woodcutters is in poor shape with some icy spots on the hills. All areas were packed for skating. The south loop remains unpacked with some skiier set track, and minimal snow cover on the hills.
Here's the gem! last weeks volunteer snowblowers created a firm base, and Saturdays snow has been packed a number of times. Great for skating and is going to get faster as the cold continues. The Capilano loops will be repacked after todays First Flakes Loppet (late this evening) and a classic track will be in very soon.
Strathcona Biathlon Trails
Trails have been packed but not groomed. Rifles: Thanks to the AstroTurf, the Range and Stadium are skiable for rifle shooters with rock skis. The Biffy Loop is also skiable for rifle shooters with rock skis and careful skiing. Bears: Bears will run and shoot on the packed Stadium until we get enough snow to cover the concrete. All other trails are closed.
