APRIL 9 - SKI BOX AND SKIS STOLEN (Barraclough Family)
We had a large amount of ski equipment stolen on Sunday night. The thieves removed our roof rack from our van parked on our back alley driveway, along with our ski box, which contained 9 pairs of skis and 7 sets of poles, including all of our girls ski equipment. While it is all replaceable, we are very sad about the loss but have certainly learned some good lessons the hard way.... First, our rack did not lock onto the top of our vehicle. While the ski box was locked onto the rack and locked, the thieves were able to remove the rack and carry the entire package away. We will purchase a rack that locks on in the future. Second, if you happen to be in the same situation as us – van with box won’t fit in the garage – we would highly recommend removing all equipment from the box whenever you park it outside at home. Although it’s a hassle, we will be doing that in the future. Last, while we know what was in the ski box, it would have been really handy to have pictures and serial numbers (if available) for all our equipment. We will definitely document better in the future.

We have reported the theft to the police. If you happen to see or hear about any of this equipment, please call us at (780) 482-0809 (home), (780) 619-4338 (Sian) or (780) 668-5417 (Todd). Thanks.
