Roller Skis!!!

If you haven’t already done so, please, please, return your roller skis!!! Below, a note from John:

This email is a reminder to please return your roller skis.  A few of you have already emailed me to make arrangements to return them – thank you.  If you have not,  please let me know when you are able to return your roller skis.

We need to have them returned in order for us to have enough time to get them ready and serviced for the spring programs.

Thank you,

John

Training at Edmonton Ski Hill Thursday

Thursday evening practice will be at Edmonton ski hill.  The ESC will charge a small fee for us to ski there, so bring some money for trail fee.  There is no classic track there so SK is the natural choice, but I understand the Adult Groups are classic skiing.

Mooseheart Loppet – Saturday Feb 25th

The Hornbeck trails are in pretty good condition.  We have been shoveling snow on the few bare patches, and we are able to renovate the icy patches.  More renovation and track setting will take place on Friday, so conditions on Saturday should be pretty good.  We are not able to use the west end of the 15K trail (too icy and too many bare stretches), so 15K skiers will go once around the 10K and once around the 5K.

Grooming Report – February 21st

As of 2pm:
Areas from the grooming compound through half of the lake loop were renovated today including retaining wall hill, Georges chute and parking loop. The Treeline has held snow very well also. Skate lanes only – no tracks set.
All other areas are quite disconnected with water, ice or grass spots. The far west of 50th and the far east of lower Gold bar / lake loop are not groomed. Snow on the center line is disappearing quickly.
Woodcutters is not recommended due to ice and water.
Grooming in Capilano and Goldstick is on hold now as equipment cannot safely access these areas

Lost at Goldbar

Lost: My daughter left her Alberta Youth Championships toque behind at GB after training last Tuesday. It was spotted after we left but it never turned up in the lost and found. Did anyone pick it up by accident? It’s a black and grey acrylic knit toque with an AYC logo on the front. It’s a really special item for her, so we’d really love to have it back if anyone picked it up.  Please contact me at mjaysmith@gmail.com or 587.709.2727. Thanks!
