AGM on September 30th

Our AGM will be on Saturday September 30th…from 6:00 to 8:30. Mark you calendars!!!

Volunteer with ENSC — We need help to keep our programs, snow making and grooming going to meet your needs.

We will have several volunteer positions available this year:

Treasurer: Are there any accountants out there who like skiing and want to help us keep our accounts and vision in order?

Other positions available:

  • Vice President, Member at Large, Adult Lessons Coordinator, and other positions on our various committees.

Chickakoo Time Trial

On Saturday we ventured out to Chickakoo Park (just north of Stoney Plain) to do a skate roller ski time trial (TT) and an afternoon run. Both biathlon and XC participated and below are the results form the TT.

This Week: August 28 to September 3

Last Week of Summer Training

This is the last week of Summer Training. The Fall/winter Season begins on Tuesday September 5. Registration is now open 🙂 Check it out HERE!

NOTE: We are meeting at Edmonton Ski Hill on Tuesday…NOT Hawrelak!!

This coming weekend Pro cycling comes to Edmonton. The Tour of Alberta, with some of the world’s best riders, will be competing in and around Edmonton. Try to get out and watch! Click here for more info!!

This week…

Monday August 28:

  • Biathlon – At the Range. Check with your coaches!!
  • XC – Performance 104 Strength Training
    • 4:30 to 5:30!

Tuesday August 29: 

  • Which Programs: General Training
  • When: 6:30-8:00 PM
  • Where: Edmonton Ski Hill.
  • What: 
    • Warm-Up Routine
    • Ski-bounding – Up 50m/down 25m/up 50m/down 25m/ up50m…until you reach the top
    • Soccer Ball Core
    • Soccer!!!
  • Technique: Running
  • What to Bring: SKI striding poles!!! Appropriate training clothes for the weather, running shoes, drinkbelt, and some dry clothes to change into afterwards. Check the weather.
  • NOTE:
    • Always bring a change of clothes to change into after training!! You never know!

Wednesday August 30: 

  • Biathlon – At the Range
  • Adult Strength Training
    • Performance 104
    • 6:30 to 7:30
    • Bring INDOOR Shoes!!!
  • XC: Suggested training:
    • LSD – up to 2 hrs.
      • Run, bike, or roller ski
    • NOTE: LSD stands for Long, SLOW, Distance
      • This means you go slow, you can keep a conversation going the whole time, and you are NOT competing with your training partner to go as fast as you can!! Your HR monitor MUSt show that you are in Z1 the whole time!!

Thursday August 31: 

  • Technique Thursday – CL Technique (we’ll try this again…rained out last Thursday)
    • Keillor Rd
    • 6:30 to 8:00
    • Push ups – “10” 😉

Friday September 1: 

  • Recovery Day
    • Easy run/walk, some core, and light stretching.

 

Saturday September 2: 

  • Adult Roller Skiing at Capilano – SK roller Skis.
    • 8:30 am to 10:00
  • Youth Adventure Saturday
    • Where: Goldbar Parking Lot…we will migrate to Rundle from there
    • When: 10:30 to 12:30 pm
    • What: CL Roller Ski
      • Warm UP (30 min)
      • 3-5x 10min Z3
      • Cool Down

Sunday September 3:

  • What: Self Directed training
  • LSD Training up to 2 hrs
    • Bike, Roller Ski, or run 🙂
