Training Start Up January 6

Happy New Year everyone!! I trust the holidays were good to you and you are now ready to “get back to work”! We start up our regular programming tomorrow, January 6, but instead of meeting at Goldbar we will meet at SWC. The conditions there are quite good for both skating and classic.

I am sure many of you found it challenging to get out skiing when it was so cold AND with so little snow. The groomers have been busy both here in the City (Goldbar/Capilano) and out at SWC and we now have a choice. Snow making has produced very good conditions at Goldbar, albeit mainly on the “Snow Making Loop – about 3km. Regular training will take place at the Goldbar facility starting on Tuesday and beyond, especially since the forecast is for SNOW and more SNOW mid week next week!! So we look forward to training on excellent conditions again.

Training Saturday January 6:

  • Where: SWC
  • When: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon
  • What: Intensity
  • Technique: SKATE (I know, the BLOG said SKATE then Classic…and now SKATE)
    • Please bring BOTH classic and skate equipment – the weather is calling for freezing rain so this may make finding grip a big challenge. Skating will be much easier!!! We are now leaning toward skate due to the forecast!!
  • Bring: A change of clothes and a snack…and DON’T forget to get a day user pass at SWC if you don’t have a membership.
