How do the new Public Health Measures announced on November 24, impact the Edmonton Nordic Ski Club, and our membership?

Update November 27 from Nordiq Alberta:

Dear Member Clubs,

Thank you for your patience as we worked with Alberta Sport, Physical Activity, and Recreation (SPAR) to clarify how the restrictions announced on Tuesday affect our sport. As per instruction from Alberta Health Services, any organized training session must be limited to a maximum of 10 participants (including coaches and support). While group training is permitted to continue, Nordiq Alberta recommends speaking with your local health authority for any additional regional restrictions that may affect your programming.

Clubs operating within a community with enhanced measures are not permitted to travel to other communities under enhanced measures for training purposes (i.e. Camrose athletes would not be permitted to travel to Edmonton for training, Calgary athletes would not be permitted to travel to Canmore for training etc.). We ask at this time that programs operating in communities with enhanced measures do not move their programming to communities without enhanced measures.

Restrictions at a glance:

· Group training may continue with a maximum of 10 individuals in an outdoor setting. This number includes coaches and support.

· Regional restrictions may affect your programming. Please check with local health officials to ensure extra measures are not in place.

· No provincial travel is permitted. Communities under enhanced measures (marked in purple on this map) may not visit travel to other communities for training purposes.
