Adult Biathlon Rifles

Sport:

For athletes over 18, who want to train and compete on a recreational level. Participants must have both a valid firearms license (PAL – Possession and Acquisition License) and basic Nordic skate ski skills. Athletes who do not already skate ski MUST take a skate skiing course prior to registering in Biathlon (See ENSC Adult Cross Country for program options). Due to limited rental rifles, registration is only on approval of the Biathlon Coordinator and/or Rental Rifle Coordinator. If you require a rental rifle, you must contact the Biathlon Coordinator before signing up for this program.

Masters:

For athletes over 35, who want to train and compete on a recreational level. Participants must have both a valid firearms license (PAL – Possession and Acquisition License) and basic Nordic skate ski skills. WHEN:

Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm, athletes will be encouraged to form peer-led training groups for additional training

This can be a stand-alone program but additional ski training is strongly recommended, please see Adult Cross-Country program options

 

WHERE:

Shooting sessions will be at the Biathlon Range at Strathcona Science Park

 

COST:

$435 – 1 day/week, Monday 6:30-8pm

 

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

Coaching by certified and experienced coaches, race support and an ENSC clothing item

 

ADDITIONAL COSTS:

ENSC membership, BA membership, rifle rental (if required), ammunition and all personal expenses at camps/races

 

EQUIPMENT:

Adult biathletes may be able to rent a rifle for one year but if you are continuing in the sport, there will be an expectation that you will provide your own

Ski Equipment: you are required to have appropriate skate ski equipment, skis, boots and poles
