18+ Racing & Development
Skiers in this program will continue to foster a love of cross country skiing in a recreational or racing environment. Workouts will be structured to maximise fitness and ski specific strength. Team and individual challenges will help to further develop self confidence and promote skiing as a community. Tactical and technical refinement with continue to be a focus for those with racing goals.

Athletes born in 2007 or later who want to continue developing overall fitness and ski specific skills through dryland and on snow training.
Athletes in this group have either graduated from other programs and want to continue skiing and training at a high level who may (or may not) want to compete regularly.

Refinement of all skills can be expected, as well as improving ski specific endurance and strength. This is a full season program and includes dryland and on-snow training including interval and sprint training along with endurance-based activities in the form of running, ski striding, road biking, rollerskiing and skiing. Formal strength training will be organized by the individual.
All workout, camp and racing information will be communicated through TeamSnap. You will receive an invitation to join the ENSC U16/U18/U20/U23 XC Team a week before the first session on September 8th.

Racing Program –
Optional Yearly Training Plan (YTP) for racers. You can sign up for an individual training plan to help guide your training outside of team workouts. This is for those looking to take their ski/biathlon performance to the next level or be a successful multi-sport athlete. A training plan ca be a great way to track the volume and intensity of your workouts, monitor fatigue and effort and help guide preparation for major competitions. Training plans are delivered through the Training Peaks platform. This is an additional fee that can be added on at the time of registration.

Thursdays 6:30 - 8pm
Saturdays 10am -12pm
Registration fee includes race support at all Alberta Cup weekends

Dryland locations will vary: Gold Bar Park, Capilano, Rundle Park, Gallagher Park, Kinsmen Park, Whitemud Ravine, Terwillegar Park & other locations communicated to participants.
On snow location: Gold Bar Park and Capilano with adventure skis happening at locations within an hours drive of Edmonton such at Strathcona Wilderness Centre and Blackfoot/Cooking Lake. These sessions will be communicated well in advance through TeamSnap.

ENSC Membership, NC/NA Membership. Race Support fee if skier chooses to join the club at an additional race other than AB Cups 5 & 6 in Edmonton, Jan 30-31, 2027.
Training camps and races such as Westerns, Canada Cups and Nationals are charged to individuals attending.
Nordiq Canada Race License (Race program only)
A Nordiq Canada race licence entitles you to compete in nationally sanctioned races like provincial cups, the Canada Cup series, and the Nordiq Cup (Continental Cup) series. The race licence comes with added bonuses, like race seeding, inclusion in ranking lists, and eligibility for Canada Points List (CPL) points

Skis – one set each classic and skate skis. Waxable classic skis are recommended.
Race Skis – one set each for warm and cold classic and skate skis; plus a set of training skis for classic and skate
Boots – skate and classic boots
Poles – classic poles, skate poles, ski striding poles
Headlamp – these are mandatory for late Fall and winter. Participants without headlamps will NOT be able to join the workout.
Roller Skis and helmet – must own classic and skate roller ski equipment.
Rock skis are not mandatory but can be useful for early and late season training
