U18Development and Racing

Continue developing overall fitness and ski specific skills through dryland and on snow training. 

WHO: Athletes in this group are U18 aged skiers who want to continue skiing and training at a high level who may (or may not) want to compete regularly.

WHAT: Racing is certainly not mandatory but we will train as though you are preparing to race. Refinement of all skills can be expected, as well as improving ski specific endurance and strength.  This is a full season program and includes dryland and on-snow training with the option If you are in the racing program you will be given a yearly training plan (YTP) that outlines specific training as defined by your personal goals. 

WHO:

Athletes born in 2009 and 2010

WHEN:

September 8, 2026 to March 20, 2027 (conditions dependent)

Training Program -  Tuesdays 6:30 - 8pm

Saturdays 10am - 12pm

  • Registration fee includes 1 race weekend

  • $650 2 day training program

Racing Program - Tuesdays 6:30 - 8pm

Thursdays 6:30 - 8pm

Saturdays 10am -12pm

  • Registration fee includes race support at all Alberta Cup weekends

  • $1425 3 day racing program

WHERE:

Dryland locations will vary: Gold Bar Park, Gallagher Park, Kinsmen Park & other locations communicated to participants.

On snow location: Gold Bar Park, Goldstick Park, Capilano Park

ADDITIONAL COSTS:

ENSC Membership, NC/NA Membership, roller ski rental (if necessary), additional training camps and all expenses at camps/races (optional)

EQUIPMENT:

  • Skis – one set each for warm and cold classic and skate skis; plus a set of training skis for classic and skate

  • Boots – skate and classic boots

  • Poles – classic poles, skate poles, ski striding poles

  • Headlamp

  • Roller Skis and helmet – must own classic and skate roller ski equipment.

  • Rock skis are not mandatory but can be useful for early and late season training
