Skiing For Life
Looking for a great group of people to stay fit and have fun with? Our adult programs cater to a range of abilities from those just learning how to ski to those who want to compete at world masters and especially those looking to race the Birke.
Please reach out to headcoach@edmontonnordic.ca for any questions.
Adult Lessons
We offer small-group lessons to those looking to learn how to ski for the first time and those who are looking for a brush up. All of our instructors are CANSI certified and excellent at what they do.
Learn To Train
Intended for experienced recreational skiers with high fitness levels and body awareness. Join others who wish to advance their skiing ability to the next level. The course will also include dryland training, waxing, and race advice for those who wish to participate in loppets. It will include both skate and classic styles. . This ATG is also a steppingstone for those who wish to pursue the Adult Development/Racing group. This is not for beginner skiers.
Train To Train
Participants with Intermediate or above cross country ski technique and fitness. Participants will be divided into subgroups based on speed and ability. Skiers will run, stride, and do general strength training during dryland sessions. On-snow sessions may include skiing continuously up to 1.5 hours, with hydration breaks. Participants will identify the group’s focus (races or other events) for the season.
Learn To Coach
This initiative was launched to help develop new coaches and /or develop “old” coaches who wish to further their knowledge and experience. Learn to Coach may satisfy the desire to remain active, to learn how to coach while contributing to their and others’ growth as a cross country skier. It will also fill a much needed role within the Club.
Recreational Group
The recreational ski group is a chance to go skiing with other skiers in and around Edmonton. No need to be an expert, all abilities are welcome to come enjoy the snow.
